Lodge...True Grit Style

Lodge style has been a favorite American style for quite a few years.  The popularity of the movie "True Grit" will certainly boost that lodge-cabin style once again.  My family and I went to see the movie over Christmas and I just loved it. As usual with me and movies, I can't help but study the setting and it's details.  This was  of course authenticlLodge-cabin style.  Something about  the "Old West" seems to fascinate us and fill us with a desire to bring that cozy warmth of a lifestle to our homes.  Check out these awsesome photos of modern day "Old West"..

The  lodge-cabin style brings to mind large heavy, rustic, warm, and cozy, focasing  on the high celiing beams.  Now more than ever that style is usually built around the view with large picture windows.

And we can't forget that log home look of the old west. Bringing in lots of wood components, floors, trims etc. With Leather, plaids, and old time rugs.
